What is Filmstart?
Filmstart is the start page for the Dutch film and television industry. Through Filmstart, you can find useful links for making, creating, viewing and promoting film.
When did Filmstart come into existence?
Filmstart was founded by film students in 1999. Filmstart has grown out to be a lively startpage with more than 6000 film and television links. Since 2004, Filmstart has been part of the Filmnetwerk Foundation.
What is the Filmnetwerk Foundation?
The Filmnetwerk Foundation is an organisation that is dedicated to increase the possibilities for independent filmmakers on the internet. Knowledge and experience are made available for filmmakers all over the world, and on a non-commercial basis.
Who works @ Filmstart?
Filmstart is mainly maintained by volunteers. They check existing and incoming links thoroughly and put them on the site.
Why don’t I have to pay for the use of Filmstart?
Filmstart is accessible for everyone. Filmstart.nl was founded with the idea to give the filmindustry and upcoming filmmakers access to the information freely. For this reason, it is important that Filmstart remains a free accessible site which is easy and rapid in use.
Why aren’t there animated banners on the site?
Filmstart strives for simplicity, easy-reference and efficiency. We feel that animated banners interfere with this.
I submitted a link but I can’t see it on the site, what do I have to do?
Filmstart gets lots of e-mails. We try to process our mail three weeks after the day of application. Sometimes it takes a little longer than normal, because some periods are is busier than others. Also, Filmstart has the right to not place a link because the quality of the site is not sufficient or because the link has nothing or too little to do with filmmaking.
